TRAVEL BY AIR
The Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is the main airport servicing the Ft. Myers/Sanibel Island/Naples area. Most of the major airlines serve this airport.
The airport is located off Daniels Parkway on Terminal Access Road. When leaving the airport proceed on Daniels Parkway and follow the below driving directions to Sanibel Island. It should take you about 30 minutes (with no bad traffic) to reach Sanibel Island.
TRAVEL BY CAR
Interstate 75
When coming from the northern states take Interstate 75 south into the state of Florida and remain on this interstate until you reach Ft. Myers. Then take Exit 131 (Daniels Parkway) and head west (turn right at the end of the exit ramp) to Summerlin Road. Take a left on Summerlin Road and follow until you reach the Sanibel Island Causeway and Toll Plaza. $6.00 toll to cross the causeway. If you do not have transponder, they will charge you an additional $3.00 each time as a convenience fee when they mail you the bill. Do not stop at the Toll Booth as they are no longer manned.
Island Directions
When you come over the Causway and get to the 4-way stop, Periwinkle Way, continue straight to the end of Lindgren Blvd, which is the continuation of Causway. Turn left on East Gulf Drive. Surfrider is 7 tenths of a mile on the right hand side.
